Welcome to School Health Services. My name is Melissa Jeffries and I am the school nurse and the District Health Coordinator for Henry County Public Schools (HCPS). I have been a nurse for 28 years with the majority of my background in pediatrics. This is my 15th year with the HCPS and I am thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful organization and community.
Joining us this year is Jennifer Crabb, who will also serve as a district nurse. Jennifer has been a registered nurse for 19 years serving with a local family practice physician group. Jennifer and her husband are lifelong residents of Henry County and have three children in the Henry County school system. She is excited to join the HCPS family and looks forward to serving the students, families and staff in our community.
Darlene Tipton is the district health assistant and this is her sixth year in this role. She also worked for two years at HCHS as a special education instructional assistant. Mrs. Tipton is a long-time resident of Henry County and managed Hawkins Farm Center in Port Royal for several years. She has two daughters, one of which is a teacher at Campbellsburg Elementary School.
Jennifer, Darlene and I will be working on a rotating schedule to provide care and assistance at all three of the elementary schools, the middle school, the high school and the early childhood center. However, our schedules are based solely on the needs of the students and staff in our district and will be subject to change due to meetings, emergencies, or other obligations. We are always available to discuss your child’s medical needs or issues, so please do not hesitate to contact us. We can be reached by email or by calling the Board of Education at (502) 845-8600.
We are all very excited for this school year and look forward to serving the students and families of Henry County Public Schools. Please feel free to contact us at anytime.
