The clinic, held on Feb. 10, brought in three experts and hosted 16 participants from Henry County High School and North Oldham High School. After choosing workshops in either dance, rifle or flags, participants were given the chance to perform what they had just learned. Rogers said the response from participants was very positive.
“We definitely want to continue this next year and invite color guard members from the surrounding counties to attend,” Rogers said. “It’s also a great refresher for members who have finished marching band season and need to prepare for next year’s auditions.”
Rogers said Henry County’s color guard auditions, for current sixth grade through junior students, would begin in March. He encourages anyone interested to come to the auditions to work with the equipment to see if they would like to pursue the extra-curricular activity.
“We have a great group,” Rogers said. “We work hard, but we have a lot of fun doing it.”
