Faculty members who are chosen will be asked to wear or display the jersey on Friday after they are given the jersey to show you made an impact on a player of the football team.
For last week’s matchup with Oldham County the seniors on the team were asked to give their jersey to a faculty member and Chandler Stanley chose history teacher Jim Hook for the honor.
“We talked with coach about picking someone who has made a difference to us,” Stanley said. “We thought it was a good idea. It lets the teacher know they have an impact that goes outside the classroom.”
Stanley said Hook was a no brainer choice for him.
“I’ve gotten to know Coach Hook inside and outside the classroom and no matter where he is or who he is with he is always the same person with you,” he said. “He always has time to talk to you.”
Wright got the idea from his high school coach back in his playing days at Fairdale High School.
“We hope it will lead to more involvement with the faculty and the team and let them know the kids appreciate their efforts,” Wright said.
