HCHS and NCES Earn Energy Star Rating

The Henry County High School and New Castle Elementary School earn the Energy Star rating from the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Buildings that earn EPA's Energy Star use 35 percent less energy and generate 35 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than similar buildings across the nation. This rating was made possible by recent renovations at both facilities. Energy efficient lighting and geothermal HVAC systems as well as better insulation were the leading factors in garnering this rating. The Henry County Public Schools are committed to energy efficiency thus being more environmentally friendly.
