Animals for Learning is a wonderful experience for both the high school students and the sixth graders. It gives both of these age groups the opportunity to interact with animals in a fun and educated way. The high school students prepare a presentation that involves an animal and connect it back to sixth grade core content. I know for a fact that these sixth graders won't go back to the middle school saying they learned nothing! The teens are giving excellent presentations and the sixth graders are giving them their utmost attention. In the Ag shop the types of animals varies all the way from the everyday house dog, to the cows outside and strangely even a hedgehog. Throughout this day I'm excited to say that Henry County's agriculture pride has shown through! These teenagers have so much passion for this and they are getting an amazing chance to share it with the sixth graders.
I'm proud to say 2014 Animals for Learning was a success!
