It's Homecoming Week

On Manic Monday, students are encouraged to dress in 80’s fashion and support the boys and girls soccer teams in a doubleheader. The girls play against Frankfort at 6pm and the boys take on Portland Christian at 7:30pm.

Tuesday will get groovy as students don clothes reminiscent of the 60’s and 70’s. The girls golf team hosts a home match that will serve as the team’s senior night at the Henry County Country Club against Carroll County and Williamstown at 4:30pm.

For Way Back Wednesday, students can incorporate items from their favorite decade into the class colors leading up to the big PowderPuff game at 6:30pm. Admission is $1. The Ladycat volleyball team takes on Anderson County with JV starting at 5:30pm, followed by varsity play.

On Thursday students will step back in time to the “Nifty Fifties” before dressing for a white-out at the volleyball games against Owen County. JV plays at 6pm, followed by the varsity game. Boys golf hosts a home match at the Henry County Country Club against Owen County.

Friday is Homecoming night! The theme for the day is spirit wear for HCHS day. Students, parents, staff and fans are invited to break out their vintage HCHS apparel. During fifth period, there will be a pep rally at HCHS. The Homecoming parade will make its way through New Castle beginning at 4:30pm. To culminate the week, the homecoming king and queen will be crowned at about 7pm before the football game against Atherton, which starts at 7:30pm.

Students receive points for their grade level by dressing up and attending homecoming week activities. The class with the most points will claim the coveted spirit stick to be displayed in their hall until basketball homecoming.
