Students were asked to share things for which they were grateful or things that made them happy, as well as ways to make others happy.

Examples ranged from sharing gum, chargers and pet pictures to offering compliments, smiles and hugs. The students’ messages were posted to a bulletin board at the school.

The guidance department is gearing up to launch a new initiative, CATS CARE, which will promote healthy social and emotional behaviors, attitudes and perspectives.

“We all need a little more happy in our lives!” said guidance counselor Judy Rice. “Focusing on the positives in our lives was a great place to start.”
